FROM THE KITCHEN
WHEN THE COMMUNITY NEEDS HELP, THE KITCHEN SHOWS UP.
Chefs and hospitality workers are using what they know best: food, community and hospitality, to support people affected by the earthquakes.
Meet the people showing up.
Colombia
Chef Jose Luis Rojas
After losing his own restaurant just months earlier, Chef Jose Luis Rojas knows what it means to start over. When the earthquake hit Colombia, he joined his community in Cali to prepare and distribute meals to people who had lost so much. Turning his own experience into action, Jose Luis and his team continue showing up for their city, one meal at a time.
Venezuela
Chef Monica Sahmkow
When the earthquake struck Venezuela, Chef Monica Sahmkow brought her students, Bocú’s kitchen community, and local partners together to help feed people affected by the disaster. Working alongside Caracas Catering and World Central Kitchen, they turned food into a way to show up, support local communities, and care when it mattered most.
